Bow Drill Fire-making Class (Saturday, May 2, 2026; 10:00AM-4:00PM; Cost: $40.00 per person; Location: 244 Huval Street, Lafayette, Louisiana 70501)

Description: Each student will carve their very own bow drill kit from a piece of Baldcypress wood. We will guide your from start to finish and also cover effective technique, as well as other alternative woods that work great! Lunch will be provided. Each student will need to bring a fixed blade knife, chair, and a water bottle. See you there!

Coastal Foraging and Basic Saltwater Fishing (April 26, 2025; 10:00AM-6:00PM; Cost: $100.00 per person; Location: near Sea Rim State Park, Texas)

Description: We will conduct an edible wild plant walk along the beach and adjacent marshes and then cover basic saltwater fishing with modern gear (some primitive options will be covered as well)! If you are going to fish with us in the afternoon (not required), you must have a Texas fishing license (with saltwater endorsement) and your own fishing pole (hooks, bait, and other gear will be provided).
